The Stockholm regional authority are expanding the metro, proposing a ”technical building” on the ground where our national treasure of the wooden boat fleet has it’s winter maintenance site.
The proposed location is in the park just north of ”Pålsundet” and has been used for winter maintenance of boats since 1919! A piese of south facing area that has never been built upon!
There is alternative locations that have been put forward to the project team from the region – but that has fallen flat – they are only offering us a discussion on how to work around their current – for us devastating – proposal.
No value have been given to the maintenance needs of Europes largest collection of classic wooden boats in the evaluation of the location of this facility. A fatal blow to the well known club – Heleneborgs Båtklubb. Equally affected will the campervan site be – which during construction will loose 50% of it’s area – seriously reducing their chances of surviving.

Do sign our petition below. The petiton text translates to: I demand that the technical building for the Yellow line i placed so it doesn’t impact the wooden boat activities on Långholmen
Heleneborg’s boat club, together with other consultation bodies, have proposed several alternative locations that do not restrict any activities, which was raised during the consultation on the issue. The region still stands by its previous decision, which means a major negative impact on the floating cultural environment – a fatal blow to one of the strongest strongholds of boat culture.
Through a collective opinion, we can show the value we all stand for. So do not hesitate if you want to preserve the environment at Pålsundet. Add your name to the appeal.
